 Elden Ring Movie: Director Alex Garland eyes “Heartstopper” Kit Connor for lead role| 2025

Alex Garland, the filmmaker and screenwriter of the upcoming ‘Elden Ring‘ movie, is reportedly eyeing breakout star Kit Connor for the lead role. The news follows confirmation days ago that Garland would be directing the film version of the popular video game, which will be made by A24 and Bandai Namco.

As per a recent Variety report, Alex Garland is keen on teaming up once again with Kit Connor for the new project, following directing him in ‘Warfare.’ 

According to statements from sources close to the project, the media outlet reported that the director was eyeing Connor for a lead role but had not yet made an official offer to the actor.

Although Kit Connor has appeared in various TV shows and films since the age of eight, his biggest role to date was in Netflix’s ‘Heartstopper,’ where he played Nick Nelson.

The actor recently appeared in A24’s ‘Warfare,’ a war movie, co-directed by Alex Garland and ex-Navy SEAL Ray Mendoza.

Developed by FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki, Elden Ring is a dark fantasy RPG with an expansive, immersive world filled with dragons, mythological creatures, sky-high castles, and deadly dungeons.

The game is set in a mythic world known as the Lands Between, in which the disintegration of the mighty Elden Ring has plunged the world into turmoil and disarray. The hero, who is the player character, has the mission to restore the Elden Ring and order to the world.
